In August 2020, our company celebrated its 50th anniversary. Since our establishment in 1970, we have embraced the philosophy of contributing to the creation of a prosperous society where people can live peacefully, encapsulated in our motto, "FOR SAFETY FOR SOCIETY." With the adoption of the Paris Agreement at the United Nations, global recognition of pressing issues such as environmental problems and human rights has grown. Sustainability management aimed at creating a prosperous and sustainable society has also gained significant attention in the corporate world.
We believe that practicing our corporate philosophy is the very essence of contributing to the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society. To further encourage each employee to embody our corporate philosophy, we have formulated the "JESCO Group Sustainability Basic Policy."
In our new Medium-Term Management Plan for the period from August 2023 to August 2025, we aim to construct a long-term growth strategy based on the vision of "becoming a dynamic corporate group that takes on the challenge of realizing carbon neutrality, Society 5.0, and a resilient society, primarily in Japan and Asia." Our key initiatives include renewable energy-related facilities, wireless communication infrastructure, overseas engineering, international construction, and talent placement. Through a chain of stock and flow strategies, we will seek to expand our business, while also advancing into new fields, building domestic and international networks, and securing talent. Simultaneously, we will continue to prioritize safety, deliver high-quality construction and services, and engage in fair and equitable corporate activities to grow together with society as a corporate group that moves toward the future with speed, challenge, and innovation.
Furthermore, we recognize carbon neutrality as a critical priority and are actively working toward realizing a decarbonized society through our renewable energy-related construction business and forest ownership initiatives. The "Nachi-Katsuura Protection Forest" in Wakayama Prefecture, which we acquired in 2017, was certified by the Organization for Landscape and Urban Green Infrastructure under SEGES OMA* program at Excellent Stage 2. Moving forward, we will continue to engage in community-oriented social contribution activities through green space management.
We also aim to be a "human company that fulfills the dreams and hopes of its employees," placing a strong emphasis on long-term human resource development. To advance the DX (digital transformation) of human resource development in Japan and Vietnam, we established "JESCO Academy" in October 2020. This initiative enables engineers to access on-demand training via the cloud, allowing them to study anytime, anywhere. In the future, we plan to expand this program to our partner companies, both domestically and internationally, creating a "Global Academy."
We sincerely ask for your continued support of the JESCO Group.
